Juliette (Fontaine) Gonsalves

Juliette (Fontaine) Gonsalves, 102, of Acushnet, passed away Monday, March 21, 2023, at Hathaway Manor Extended Care, in New Bedford, surrounded by her family.

She was the widow of Antone Gonsalves

Mrs. Gonsalves was born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Wilfred Fontaine and Marie (Doucet) Fontaine.

Prior to retiring, Juliette worked as a cake decorator at the former Fernandes Supermarket . She enjoyed drawing, knitting, crafting, painting, sewing, and crocheting, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children: Richard Gonsalves (wife Maureen Hathaway), of Marion, Carol Vieira (husband Joseph), of East Freetown, and Linda Hotte (husband Kenneth), of Fairhaven; her sisters: Doris and Pauline; her grandchildren: Christopher, Timothy, Lauren, Matthew, Kendra, Christine, Sherri, and Tracie; her great-grandchildren: Lyla, Westley, Taylor, Kaitlyn, Alex, Ryan, Jakob, Kenedi, Mackenzie, and Matthew; several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Andrew Hotte and sister of the late Romeo and Norman.

Her funeral services will be private.
