Maria O. (Melo-Costa) Raposo

FALL RIVER… Maria O. (Melo-Costa) Raposo, 97, of Fall River passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River.

She was the loving wife of the late Manuel J. Raposo.

Born in Fazenda da Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Costa and Maria Amelia Melo.

Mrs. Raposo worked as a trimer for many years at Samesta Manufacturing, prior to retiring and was a communicant of Santo Christo Parish. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, and always being surrounded by her family.

Survivors include her daughters: Natalia Teves, Goretti Cabral, and Rose Rocha, all of Fall River; her son: Jose Raposo of Swansea; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 10 siblings.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday, December 14, 2020 at 10:30 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Santo Christo Parish, Columbia St. Fall River, MA. Calling hours will be held prior to the service, from 8:30 – 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
