FALL RIVER… Richard M. Duarte, 71, of Fall River passed away December 11, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.
He was the loving husband of Darlene (Carpenter) Duarte to whom he has been married for 38 years. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Edmond Duarte and Mary (Silvia) Duarte.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Duarte had worked most of his life as a Steel Painter in the Painters & Allied Trades District Council #35, Local 1138. He traveled often for work, but when he was home, his family always came first. He loved good quality family days with his wife, children, grandchildren, and dog whether it was at holidays, sunny days in his backyard, or a warm getaway with his entire family.
Richie was best known for being a hard working man and a people person. He could talk to anyone and made friends wherever he went. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: stories from days gone by, a good joke, and sitting on the beach with a cold drink in his hand. To him, life was always counted by summers. Warm and sunny days with those he loved were the best kind.
Along with his wife, survivors include his children: Kristin Fantucchio (husband Scott), of Attleboro, and Jennifer Pacheco (husband Emanuel), of Westport; his grandchildren: Troy, Roman, Ryan, Gavin, Ella, and Maia; his brother Thomas Duarte (wife Brenda), of Fruit Cove, FL; his beloved therapy dog Snookie; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Monday, December 27, 2021, at 11am at Holy Trinity Parish, Stafford Rd., Fall River. Burial will be private. With the holidays fast approaching, the family respectfully asks for social distancing and mask wearing. Please pay your respects online if you are feeling ill. Richie loved the holidays and would want everyone to remain healthy to enjoy them.
